Screenwriting

Paul Harker is a versatile screenwriter whose work spans character-driven drama, socially rooted storytelling and elevated genre concepts.

He holds an MA in Scriptwriting for TV and Radio from the University of Salford, where he studied under course leader and produced screenwriter Colin Muir. Upon graduating in 2019, he was awarded Best Postgraduate by the School of Art and Media.

Drawing on his working-class upbringing in Teesside and his connection to contemporary life in Leeds, Paul crafts narratives that explore themes of isolation, community, power and resilience. His scripts have earned 25 international awards across six different projects, reflecting both his strong command of structure and his instinct for emotionally resonant storytelling.

Recent screenwriting work includes adapting The Revue, from Michael Cowen’s source novel into a TV series and spec script, as well as writing on projects Becoming Orwell (a feature adaptation), The Whisper Wood (a feature script) and All Revved Up and In the Stars (US TV movie scripts).
