Jugganort has completed production on a new short documentary commission entitled These Hands.
These Hands tells the story of Pete Turner, a former professional clown who co-founded Leeds Children’s Circus, now living with Parkinson’s Disease and making music as a solo producer and as part of Slipway Strangers, in collaboration with Simon Peck.
Written, produced, filmed and edited by Paul Harker.
Director’s Statement:
Pete is someone I have known for over a decade. His life was once defined by movement, precision and laughter. As a professional clown, Pete lived through his hands and the magic they created. Now, with the onset of Parkinson’s, those same hands betray him. Forced into retirement, he faced losing not just a career, but the core of his identity.
I made this film firstly, to celebrate his remarkable resilience, and secondly, to speak to other people living with the condition.
